Künstler David zog mit seiner Partnerin und Tochter Grace von Vancouver nach Berlin, da die Lebenshaltungskosten in Kanada trotz 70 bis 90 Arbeitsstunden pro Woche erdrückend hoch waren. Auslöser war eine Zahnbehandlung, die in Kanada 15.000 Dollar gekostet hätte, konnte in Polen für 1.200 Euro durchgeführt werden. In einem zum Wohnwagen umgebauten Bus haben sie ihre mobile Heimat gefunden. Sie sind glücklich, weil sie sich gegenseitig haben und Halt geben. Doch sie träumen davon, eines Tages Wurzeln zu schlagen. Auch, da ihr aktueller Stellplatz auf einem Transitgelände der Deutschen Bahn nur vorübergehend ist und bald geräumt werden könnte. Die Deutsche Bahn möchte hier in naher Zukunft Bauarbeiten durchführen.

Artist David moved from Vancouver to Berlin with his partner and daughter Grace because the cost of living in Canada was overwhelmingly high despite working 70 to 90 hours a week. The trigger was a dental treatment that would have cost 15,000 dollars in Canada, but could be carried out in Poland for 1,200 euros. They have found their mobile home in a bus that has been converted into a caravan. They are happy because they have each other and provide support. But they dream of putting down roots one day. Not least because their current parking space on a Deutsche Bahn transit site is only temporary and could soon be vacated. Deutsche Bahn wants to carry out construction work here in the near future.
