Dort lebten sie zu dritt für etwa ein halbes Jahr in einer Ein-Zimmer-Wohnung. Mays psychischer Zustand verschlechterte sich aufgrund von - in der alten WG erlebten Gaslighting - so sehr, dass May manchmal stundenlang weder sprechen noch den Körper bewegen konnte. Unterstützung fand May in einer Tagesklinik und später in einem Frauenhaus. Unverhofft fand May durch eine Cousine ein neues WG-Zimmer und konnte das Studium wieder aufnehmen. May träumt davon, später ein Atelier auf einem Boot zu haben, um gemeinsam mit anderen künstlerisch zu arbeiten.

May's mental health deteriorated so much due to the gaslighting they experienced in the old flat share that they were sometimes unable to speak or move their body for hours on end. May found support in a day clinic and later in a refuge. Unexpectedly, May found a new room in a shared flat through a cousin and was able to resume their studies. May dreams of later having a studio on a boat so that they can work artistically with others.
